Form the Future mentoring at Bishop Laney Sixth Form
Established in 2017, Bishop Laney Sixth Form is focused on preparing students for a professional life: every course offers professional relevance and each student will be supported by a business mentor from local community.
Form the Future's student mentoring scheme provides these enthusiastic students the opportunity to engage with the local business community: tapping into the skills, advice, encouragement and inspiration of willing personal mentors. Throughout the academic year, mentors provide practical advice on preparing CVs, making online applications for jobs and apprenticeships, succeeding at interviews and sharing their personal experience surrounding their own career trajectory.
Mentors are encouraged to be willing to arrange work based placements. Through this relationship mentors will build self-confidence and provide their mentee with further leads, ideas and encouragement to help further their career ambitions.
We hope you're interested in becoming a mentor and sharing your skills and experience to support a local sixth-former. Please send a brief email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your time will make a real difference!
